On July 24, 2018 U.S.-Ukraine Business Council hosted a business roundtable meeting with Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan in Kyiv, at the offices of Sigma Bleyzer.

Minister Omelyan commented on the progress of reforms in his area, specifically mentioning success of  Ukrposhta and other agencies reforms under his supervision. USUBC is fortunate to have this opportunity for USUBC members to meet with Mr. Omelyan in Kyiv to discuss the key reform projects to modernize and expand Ukraine's infrastructure especially the railroads, rivers, ports and roads.

Mr. Omelyan took questions from the audience and commented on recently adopted and pending changes to the Ukrainian legislation to support the reforms.This area of economic development is most important to many members of USUBC, www.USUBC.org, and they are ready to invest large amounts if meaningful reforms are implemented and modern public/private sector mutually beneficial long-term business contracts can be signed.

Volodymyr Omelyan, Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, was born on January 30, 1979 in Lviv. From 2000, served in different positions in Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine.
From 2014 he served as Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine. In April 2016 he was appointed Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine. In 2000 Volodymyr graduated from Lviv National Ivan Franko University, in 2001 got a degree from Lviv Polytechnical Institute. He possesses degrees in Finances, International Relations and Economics.
