Ukrzaliznytsia received another batch of new passenger sleeping cars

On January 31, 2022, Ukrzaliznytsia (Stare Railway Servise) received another five new passenger compartment cars. The manufacturer - PJSC "Kryukiv Carriage Building Plant" (KCBP) - continues to supply "Ukrzaliznytsia" cars ordered last year at the expense of the state budget ahead of schedule.
These five new cars, as well as 2 1-st class type cars received in the last batch, will replenish the №15 / 16 train from Kharkiv to Rakhiv.
In agreement with Ukrzaliznytsia, the manufacturer made some changes to the design of the cars received in this batch for passengers convenience: contrast markings for visually impaired people were added, an additional lighting control panel was installed in the compartment, and contact-free toilet flash buttons were tested.
In addition, the cars are traditionally equipped with air conditioning, a cooler with drinking water, a compartment door alarm, an indicator of the occupancy of toilets and a button to call the conductor. The cars have an increased luggage compartment and are equipped with video surveillance systems in the common areas of the cars, vacuum toilets, changing tables, as well as outlets and USB ports at each location.
NOTE: By the end of 2021 Ukrzaliznytsia received 20 new passenger cars from the manufacturer - 15 compartments and 5 1-st class cars, which currently run on the route 5/6 Mariupol-Rakhiv and 77/78 Kharkiv-Mariupol. Under the agreement with KVBZ until July 2022 "Ukrzaliznytsia" will receive another 31 compartment cars, 7 1-st class cars, 20 compartment cars for the transportation of passengers with disabilities in wheelchairs, as well as 17 compartment cars from the compartment of the train chief and the ability to carry passengers with a disability in a wheelchair.
