As part of the project "Urban Public Transport of Ukraine" of the European Investment Bank, implemented by the Lviv City Council together with the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine,  the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine and LKP "Lvivelectrotrans", the city is purchasing 10 five-section "Electron" trams. As of now, Lviv has received 9 trams. The last one, the tenth, is expected by the end of February this year.

The new tram must undergo all preparatory work and testing of driving characteristics and braking systems. Also, devices of the automated fare payment system will be installed in the tram and an inventory number will be assigned. After conducting all the tests, the tram will be able to run on route No. 8, which connects Sykhiv and the central part of the city. Eight similar trams, received in previous years, are already operating on this route.

The Urban Public Transport of Ukraine project is a framework loan from the European Investment Bank, within which the city received 17.4 million euros for the purchase of ten five-section trams.

As part of the implementation of the investment project to create the Lem Station creative space in Lviv, part of the buildings of the oldest tram depot in Ukraine, built in 1894 at the intersection of St. Heroes of the Maidan, Vitovsky, Sakharov and Lem Square.

As of now, the architects have partially reconstructed the buildings behind the tram depot, in particular the administration building and the electric boiler. The facades of these buildings form a common courtyard. In addition, a new passage to the territory of the space from the side of the Heroes of the Maidan street was formed.

The Lem Station investment project is a creative hub project that creates opportunities for local businesses, artists, entrepreneurs and other representatives of creative industries, developed by the Invest in Lviv team in 2017. Accordingly, an investment competition was held, the winner of which was "Lem Station" LLC. In January 2020, the Executive Committee of the Lviv City Council issued town planning conditions and restrictions for the reconstruction of the first phase of the tram depot. Work began at the end of 2020, but due to the full-scale invasion of russia into Ukraine, the project implementation dates changed. The vision of the project is to continue the tradition of innovation in the city. Lviv is a city of futurists, innovators, inventors and romantics.
