Kyiv-Mohyla Academy launches new Policy Dialogue Platform
“Lessons of War: the Future Reconstructionof Ukraine and its Society”

On June 9, Kyiv-Mohyla Academy hosted the first in a series of conferences dedicated to the post-war development of Ukraine, as part of a new policy dialogue platform initiated as a joint project of National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” and Ukrainian Catholic University.
 
Participating organizations included the Coalition of Business Communities for Modernization of Ukraine, the public initiative “Ukraine after Victory”, the National Agency on Corruption Prevention, and the Kyiv-Mohyla Alumni Association.
 
This was the first in-person conference at NaUKMA since the start of Russia’s unprovoked full-scale invasion began, and the first in a series of analytical events focusing on the future of Ukraine. Topics of discussion include a wide range of public sector policies, strategies for a reformed economy, and the development of a consolidated vision for post-war Ukrainian society emanating from experienced trauma and social change.

From IT Director to the Frontline
A Commitment to the Values of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy

Oleksandr Kostyuk was in uniform on February 24, with his belongings and even with his own weapons in the battalion of the Kyiv Territorial Defense Forces.  Even before that day, he was already training for the war that was coming.
 
He recalls that at that time there were more journalists  than participants in training.  On the 24th, it was time to prove his intention to defend the country with weapons in his hands.
 
Before the war, Oleksandr Kostyuk,an IT specialist and graduate of the Executive MBA Kyiv Mohyla Business School (kmbs), worked as director of the information and computer center of NAUKMA. He also managed technology needs at the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education.  That is not all.  In the past, Oleksandr was the chief technology expert of the Electronic Library of Ukraine, which he helped establish and design the technology needs for access to global academic information for Ukraine’s universities.
