OMAHA, NE - As Ukraine continues in the battle to maintain its sovereignty, Lindsay, a global leader in helping farmers feed the world, is fully engaged in efforts to assist its employees and the people of the beleaguered nation.

Lindsay is a member of the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC), which serves as a strong international voice to support U.S.-Ukraine business relations. Since 2013, the company has developed a presence with its brands in Ukraine, according to Lindsay Ukraine, Moldova and Central Asia Territory Manager Volodymyr Kovalskyy. Today, Lindsay has eight dealers covering more than 75% of the land suitable for irrigation in Ukraine to support growers in the area.

The war has hampered agricultural production greatly with an estimated 30% of the country’s farmland now tagged occupied or unsafe. And while Kovalskyy and Lindsay dealers have been impacted by the war, they continue to try their best to carry on with their business and personal lives.

“I started to help from the first days of the war,” Kovalskyy said. “It’s been difficult because my family has had to relocate several times. I have stayed here delivering humanitarian aid and helping the military. I continue to do this and donate almost half my salary to help our military and hospitals with their needs.”

Lindsay recently gave more than $50,000 to the United Way Worldwide United for Ukraine Fund. The funds were gathered from employees’ giving and a company match. Lindsay President and CEO Randy Wood said this donation is in lockstep with the company’s dedication to being active global partners.

“One of Lindsay’s priorities is to engage with the communities we serve,” he said. “As a company, we continually strive to enhance quality of life and expand our world’s potential through the products we supply and the services we provide. We are mindful not only of our employees in Ukraine, but of the people we serve with our equipment and technology who are certainly suffering under the tremendous strain of war.”

Lindsay is a leading global manufacturer and distributor of irrigation and infrastructure equipment and technology based in Omaha, Nebraska. Established in 1955, the company has been at the forefront of research and development of innovative solutions to meet the food, fuel, fiber and transportation needs of the world’s rapidly growing population.
