KPMG in Ukraine is happy to announce that Olena Makarenko has been promoted to Head of Forensic.

Olena joined KPMG Risk Сonsulting in 2010, having previously worked in strategy and operations consulting in another Big Four firm in Ukraine. Olena also has more than 10 years’ experience working in large Ukrainian banks and other Ukrainian companies.

Olena specializes in helping clients to assess and manage risks, conducting due diligence on counter-parties, leading internal investigations and preparing expert witness reports for use in international litigation and arbitration.

Olena’s forensic experience includes anti-corruption compliance reviews, development and implementation of anti-corruption systems and anti-fraud controls, financial investigations, analysis and improvement of business processes, and internal control system analysis and optimization. Olena has managed complex fraud prevention system development projects and developed and implemented control systems to ensure compliance with anti-corruption laws.

In 2017, Olena launched the KPMG Insight Academy in Ukraine, a first for the CIS. Under her leadership, the Academy continues to work to enhance professional knowledge and skills among the business audience in Ukraine.

In 2020, she has become a member of UNIC Executive Committee.
