WASHINGTON, D.C. – General Electric (GE) has joined the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC), www.USUBC.org The announcement was made today by the USUBC executive committee on behalf of the 200 companies and organizations who are members of USUBC.

The company "plans to build the largest solar-panel-making factory in the U.S.," and has set goals for its subsidiaries to lower their greenhouse gas emissions.

OPERATIONS IN UKRAINE:

GE Transportation has been working in Ukraine and is interested in investing more in Ukraine’s infrastructure, including the modernization of rolling stock of Ukrainian railways. In 2016 General Electric (GE) signed a memorandum on cooperation with Ukrainian state-owned companies Antonov aircraft manufacturer and Ukrzaliznytsia railways.

USUBC works closely with Slava Feklin, Country Manager, Ukraine and with Danny O’Brien, Executive, Global Government Affairs & Policy, GE Transportation in Washington D.C. “We are very optimistic about the huge potential of GE operations in Ukraine and see great opportunities for Ukraine’s infrastructure modernization using the experience and technology that GE can bring to the country."

"USUBC has been encouraging Ukrainian Railways and the Ministry of Infrastructure to open their monopolitic government owned structures to important and productive business arrangements with U.S. companies. The state corporations and their Ukrainian suppliers has been very tightly closed and controlled system in the past," said Morgan Williams, President of USUBC.
