Dear Ukrainian Supporters, US Ukrainian Activists (USUA) presents a Charity Concert by a Ukrainian-American Banduryst-Virtuoso Julian Kytasty to Support the Medical Battalion Hospitallers, who save lives on the front-lines at these tragic times for Ukraine.

About Julian Kytasty: Julian Kytasty is one of the world’s premier players of the Bandura, a traditional Ukrainian string instrument. Mr. Kytasty has redefined the possibilities of bandura instrument, as a performer, recording artist, composer, teacher, and ensemble leader. Julian Kytasty’s discography includes tributes to the bandura’s deep tradition (“Black Sea Winds” and “Songs of Truth”), innovative ensemble recordings (“Experimental Bandura Trio”), World Music collaborations (“Wu Man and Friends” and “Nightsongs From a Neighboring Village”), a duo with Free Improvisation master Derek Bailey, and his recent recording of improvisations for Bandura “Nights in Banduristan.” Julian Kytasty has composed music for theatre, modern dance, and film, including an award-winning film score for the National Film Board of Canada feature documentary “My Mother’s Village.” Mr. Kytasty’s work on Yara Arts Group’s “1917-2017” earned two NY Innovative Theatre Awards, for the Best Original Score and Best Musical. This September, 2022, Julian Kytasty was awarded the title Honored Artist of Ukraine.
