USUBC continues its tradition of celebrating and sponsoring Ukraine’s Independence Day organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States. On September 10th, over 500 distinguished guests joined us at the Ukraine House, and together we celebrated freedom, unity, and our ongoing support for Ukraine’s road to victory.

The event was opened with the heartfelt welcome address by the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova, followed with inspiring remarks by the U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, Deputy Secretary of State Richard R. Verma and Deputy Secretary of Commerce Don Graves - reaffirming the unwavering support for Ukraine’s independence, freedom and its reconstruction.

Eric Luhmann, Chair of the USUBC Executive Committee, welcomed the esteemed guests on behalf of the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council, emphasizing the honor of being a major partner of the Independence Day Reception for the past 15 years! Eric reminded of USUBC’s core mission and values - promoting business relations between Ukraine and the U.S., supporting bilateral trade, fostering investment and assuring Ukraine’s victory. He emphasized that the dynamic cooperation USUBC has enjoyed with the Embassy of Ukraine, Ambassador Markarova and her Team, is a key to USUBC’s activities and success.  Eric also honored the legacy of late Morgan Williams, USUBC’s long-serving legendary President, whose leadership expanded USUBC membership to over 230 companies.

As part of the celebration, Google’s Karan Bhatia and Amit Sood presented the “Ukraine is Here” project, a brilliant showcase of Ukraine’s cultural heritage, available to explore online.

USUBC members remain strong allies of Ukraine, supporting Ukraine through to victory and the recovery.  We would like to extend our special gratitude to SEKO Logistics, Winner, Bunge, Bayer, Holtec, Logistics Plus, Cargill, Amsted Rail, John Deere, Squire Patton Boggs, Westinghouse, Aeroprecision, and Jim Berlin for sponsoring this memorable event.

Glory to Ukraine! Слава Україні!
