CALL TO ACTION
ON THE SECOND ANNIVERSARY OF THE WAR
U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC)
Sat, Feb 2024, Wash, D.C.
Washington, D.C. -- As we remember and honor a somber milestone – the second anniversary of the ongoing Russia’s war in Ukraine – our thoughts turn to the resilience and unwavering spirit of the Ukrainian people. The U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) www.USUBC.org stands firm in its commitment to supporting a free, independent, and democratic Ukraine.
In light of the current situation, now, more than ever, Ukraine needs our collective assistance to continue its fight for sovereignty and freedom. We believe that through our concerted efforts, together can make a significant difference.
The Ukrainian Freedom Fund (UFF) - Our Trusted Partner
To this end, the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) is a long time partner (10 years) with the Ukrainian Freedom Fund (UFF), a US-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Ukraine's path to freedom and democracy. Founded in 2014 in cooperation and with support from USUBC, UFF stands out for its commitment to transparency, integrity, and direct impact.
UFF leadership includes:
- Andrew Bain, Kyiv-based businessman and retired USMCR colonel who served with Ukrainian troops in Iraq,
- Eric Green, retired as Senior Director at the National Security Council for Russia.
- Dan Bilak, a Canadian lawyer with 30 years in Ukraine, including serving former prime ministers.
- Alan Merbaum, a board member of the National Defense Industry Association and a former executive at Lockheed Martin.
- William Mullen, Maj Gen USMC (Ret), former Commanding General of the US Marine Corps Training & Education Command and former president of Marine Corps University;
- Morgan Williams, President and CEO, US-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC).
NOTE: None of UFF’s senior leadership receives remuneration for their work. Their commitment is solely towards Ukraine’s security and development, recognizing its critical position in today’s global security structure.
Current Initiatives - How Your Support Can Make a Difference
The UFF is currently focused on two critical initiatives that provide immediate aid to the most vulnerable areas in Eastern Ukraine:
- Military Training Reform: Enhancing the capabilities of Ukraine's defenders through comprehensive training programs developed with the Ministry of Defense and General Staff. While many US companies are providing hardware to help Ukraine, UFF is working to ensure it’s being properly and effectively used.
- Drones for Defenders: Supplying advanced drone technology to ensure the safety of those on the front lines.
How You Can Help
