The U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) was very pleased to host in cooperation with The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Representative Office - North America a working luncheon with Francis Malige, EBRD Managing Director for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus on Tuesday, March 7, 2017.
Minister of Finance of Ukraine Oleksandr Danyliuk also participated in the meeting and brought his remarks.
About 40 companies - members of USUBC attended the working luncheon and discussed with Mr. Malige and Minister Omelian reforms in Ukraine, the business environment, EBRD priorities, financing and funding capabilities for Ukraine.
An open discussion and Q&A followed Mr. Malige's presentation and Minister Danyliuk's presentations. Morgan Williams, USUBC president moderated the working luncheon.

NOTE: USUBC is pleased to announce that the Minister of Finance of Ukraine, Oleksandr Danyliuk, will join the luncheon and bring some remarks.
Mr. Malige will discuss reforms in Ukraine, the business environment, EBRD priorities, financing and funding capabilities for Ukraine. Mr. Malige will discuss Ukraine as a country with outstanding opportunities, that deserves to be better known as an investment destination. An open discussion and Q&A will follow Mr. Malige's presentation and Minister Danyliuk's presentations. Morgan Williams will moderate the working luncheon.
EBRD is the largest investor in Ukraine with over 12 billion Euros of investment over the last 25 years. USUBC is very fortunate to have a joint meeting with EBRD's top regional director for Eastern Europe to discuss the EBRD’s policy and program for Ukraine and the region. BIO – Francis Malige, EBRD Managing Director for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus
Francis Malige is the Managing Director for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus for EBRD. He has been based in Kyiv since his appointment in 2014 and is responsible for leading the Bank’s operations and policy initiatives in Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. A French national, Mr. Malige joined the EBRD in February 2010 as a Director in the Financial Institutions Team, where he successfully developed the Bank’s business in the Western Balkans, eastern Europe, Turkey and most recently in the southern and eastern Mediterranean.
Before joining EBRD, he was Managing Director for Corporate Development at BNP Paribas, focusing on bank acquisitions. His earlier career was in accounting and consulting, at Arthur Andersen and McKinsey & Company, where he served clients in industry, high tech and construction, as well as financial services. Mr. Malige is a graduate of ESCP Europe, a French business school. In addition to his native French, he is fluent in German, Italian and English.
BIO: Oleksandr Danyliuk -Minister of Finance of Ukraine
Mr. Danyliuk is a graduate of the National Technical University “Kyiv Polytechnical Institute” (1998). He also attended Kyiv Institute for Investment Management (1995) as well as Indiana University Kelly School of Business (MBA, 2001).
From 1995 till 1998 he held different posts at a number of investment companies. In 2001 and 2002 Mr. Danyliuk was the vice-president of Avechurs company (Kyiv).
For three years (2002-2005) Mr. Danyliuk had been a senior consultant at McKinsey and Co. In London, Great Britain. From 2006 till 2010 he was the CEO of the investment company “Rurik Investment” (London, Great Britain).
From 2010 till 2015 Mr. Danyliuk was the head of the Coordination Centre for the Implementation of Economic Reforms (Kyiv). Till April 14, 2016, he had been the Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of Ukraine (since September 25, 2015) and the representative of the President in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (since July 17, 2014). Minister of Finance is fluent in five languages.
