WASHINGTON, D.C. – YOU ARE INVITED to attend the in-person meeting or the online hybrid dialogue (via ZOOM) with John Shmorhun, Founder and Chairman of MoveUkraine www.MoveUkraine.org, Ukrainian charity providing sustainable housing solutions for Ukrainians who have been severely affected by the war. The in-person meeting and on-line dialogue will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023, at 12:30 till 2 pm in Washington, D.C and online (Zoom). A light lunch will be served at the in-person part of the hybrid meeting.
MoveUkraine. Homes.Jobs.Lives. www.MoveUkraine.org was established in May 2022. It’s a Ukrainian charity with co-founders from the US, UK, and Switzerland, each of whom has lived and worked in Ukraine for more than 20 years.
Mr. Shmorhun's presentation will provide detailed information about his recent experiences in Ukraine including the following topics:
1. Successful Reconstruction Activities in Ukraine
2. Building Agriculture Productivity during and after the war,
Regenerative agriculture practices, land improvement
3. Providing Sustainable Housing for internally displaced persons through the work of MoveUkraine, www.MoveUkraine.org.
4. Report on New Opportunities found in Ukraine
The discussion will be joined by two persons who will serve as responders to John Shmorhun's presentation.

BIO: John Shmorhun is a former DuPont executive that worked in Ukraine and Russia for more than 18 years managing DuPont’s agricultural businesses in the region. As Director, he was in charge of operations in Russia, Ukraine, and the CIS countries for eight years. Prior to that appointment, he started DuPont Ukraine, where he served as the General Director in charge of DuPont’s agrochemical business from 2003 to 2008.
He served as a Navy pilot for 10 years prior to joining DuPont. Mr. Shmorhun has served on many boards, including DuPont Khimprom CJSC, and DuPont Russian Coatings CJSC. He holds an MBA from the International Management Institute in Geneva and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the US Naval Academy.
John Shmorhun has served as the President of Harmelia, a portfolio company of SigmaBleyzer. From 2013 till March 2020, Mr. Shmorhun served as the CEO at AgroGeneration, a large agricultural production company.
John and his team witnessed the thousands of Ukrainian mothers and children flooding into western Ukraine. He established www.MoveUkraine.org in response to the urgent need to get these people off the floors in railway stations, churches, and village halls. Since September 2022 MoveUkraine has opened 11 sites and provided accommodations for more than 500 Internally displaced persons (IDPs).
MoveUkraine is implementing 3 ongoing projects and 5+ projects in the pipeline to accommodate over 1000 IDPs, raised over $2 mil from private donors to finance its activity.
The primary area of activity is in Western Ukraine, specifically in the Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv oblasts, which are considered relatively safe regions with significant numbers of IDPs. MoveUkraine will be breaking ground soon to build from scratch a social housing apartment complex in Ivano-Frankivsk.
