WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) would like to invite members of the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC), www.USUBC.org , to the public discussion “Democracy that Delivers: Building Effective Reform Dialogue”.
The panel will be led by Dr. Francis Fukuyama, Olivier Nomellini Senior Fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies (FSI) and the Mosbacher Director of Stanford University’s Center on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law.
We are also pleased to have Stephen Krasner, Graham H. Stuart Professor of International Relations at Stanford University, and Pavlo Sheremeta, Director of the School of Public Management at Ukrainian Catholic University among the panelists.
The event is scheduled for February 2, 2017, and will take place at 18.00 at the Opera Hotel, in Kyiv (53, Bohdana Khmelnytskoho St.). The panel discussion will focus on how and why it is important to build effective communication between government and entrepreneurs to get better reform results and to improve the business climate in Ukraine.
This event will assemble approximately 200 leading Ukrainian individuals, including representatives of the business community, officials from state authorities and the Verkhovna Rada, experts from Ukrainian and international think tanks, as well as representatives from technical assistance projects, donor organizations, and civil society institutions.
The program is supported by National Endowment for Democracy (NED) in cooperation with Stanford University’s Center on Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law (CDDRL), the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), and the School of Public Management at Ukrainian Catholic University (SPM UCU).
