DLA Piper Webinar: The anatomy of a ransomware attack
DLA Piper, Kyiv Ukraine
April 17, Friday, 1 PM - 2 PM (Kyiv time)
Ransomware and extortion hacks are now one of the most common forms of cybercrime generating billions in revenues for international criminals. Gangs are well organised, well-funded and well protected. Very few are ever prosecuted. In this session the teams at DLA Piper and S-RM will join forces to take us through the technical side of how attacks are typically executed and how to successfully navigate through an attack.
Your presenters will discuss the types of vulnerabilities that are exploited and how attackers spread their tentacles throughout the victim’s network to inflict maximum damage. They will also discuss dos and don’ts when conducting your internal investigation and how to manage key stakeholders including affected individuals, staff, the media, insurers and your regulators. Should you ever pay a ransom? How do you pay a ransom? Can you claim ransoms back from your insurers? Should you seek help from law enforcement? Where can you gather intelligence on your attacker? Your presenters will consider all of these points and also open the floor for a short Q&A at the end of the webinar.
