Holtec International, Marlton, New Jersey, (a member of theU.S.-Ukraine Business Council, USUBC) and NAEK Energoatom signed an amendmentto the Contract for construction of the Central Storage Facility for spentnuclear fuel on June 24, 2014, in Kyiv, Ukraine.  The admendment wassigned by Dr. Kris Singh, President, Holtec International, and YuriyNedashkovskiy, President of NAEK Energoatom.  The Admendment is aimed atresuming works under the Contract originally signed in 2005, beginning with thedevelopment of the Central Storage Facility design documents.

Themembers of the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) contratulate Holtec on thesigning of the amended Contract.  This important step has been along time coming and Holtic has stayed the course for over 10 years throughmany ups and downs, and starts and stops in Ukraine, said Morgan Williams,Director, Government Affairs, Washington office, SigmaBleyzer, who serves asPresident of the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC). 

Ukrainepresently ships all of its used nuclear fuel to Russia and pays Russia ahuge price to store the fuel.  The cost savings will be enormous forUkraine once the Central Storage Facility is completed plus there are someindications, with scientific advances, used nuclear fuel couldpossibly have a real value in the future.  (see complete Holtec newsarticle below)
