Redcliffe Partners, jointly with the Law Faculty of the National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” (NaUKMA), officially announce the opening of the German Law Institute of NaUKMA (the “Institute”).

The opening will take place on Wednesday, 5 April 2017 at the Kyiv-Mohyla Business School (8/5 Voloska street, room 4-425) from 15.00 until 17.00. Governmental authorities, professors and students of the NaUKMA, as well as embassy representatives and business-sector experts, are invited to the event. The President of NaUKMA, the Minister of Justice of Ukraine, the Ambassador of the German Federal Republic and representatives of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Goethe Institute will be among the speakers. During the event, the programme of the Institute, its web-platform, as well as academic and educational opportunities in German law will be introduced to Ukrainian scholars and students. 

Professor Roman Petrov, Director of the Institute, Head of Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence and Jean Monnet Chair in EU Law at the NaUKMA, will open the event: “It is an important moment for us! We are happy to open the doors of the German Law Institute to the students and lecturers of the NaUKMA and to academic and expert communities in Ukraine. We hope that this initiative will provide our students with a profound knowledge and expertise in German law and will contribute to their future educational and career endeavours, as well as further strengthen the academic and educational cooperation between Ukraine and Germany”. 

Mr Ario Dehghani, Co-Director of the Institute, counsel and Head of Compliance at Redcliffe Partners, states: “I am honoured to be part of this historical moment of the NaUKMA and to contribute to the education of the future legal elite in Ukraine. I look forward to introducing the students of the NaUKMA to foundations and principles of the German legal system and its interaction with the legal system of Ukraine”.

The Institute offers a broad range of courses in German private and public law in both the German and English languages. It plans to offer informative activities and also offers a German language course for lawyers, intended to provide students with basic speaking, reading and writing skills with regard to German language in general and German legal terms in particular.
