WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Monsanto Company, a Fortune 500 company headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, has been approved has been approved for membership in the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC), the USUBC executive committee announced today on behalf of the entire USUBC membership of over 170 companies and organizations who have business operations, investments or other development programs in Ukraine.

MONSANTO UKRAINE
Monsanto has been very active on the Ukrainian market for many years. When Ukraine declared independence in 1991 Monsanto had a large no-till agricultural training program on the ground in Sumy.
"My very first visit to Ukraine was in the fall of 1992 when I flew from Moscow to Sumy with a team from Monsanto to visit their no-till program," said Morgan Williams, Director, Government Affairs, Washington Office, Sigma Bleyzer Private Equity Investment Management Group, who serves as President of the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC).

Helen Fomina is the Country Director for Monsanto in Ukraine."I have known and worked with Helen for many years. She is an outstanding Ukrainian business leader who has expanded the Monsanto program and provided valuable service to the agricultural community," Williams stated.

Monsanto was one of the original members of USUBC when it was founded in 1995 in Washington. USUBC is now working with Jim Travis, Director, International Government Affairs & Trade, in the Monsanto Washington office. Jim will represent Monsanto on the USUBC board of directors. "USUBC is most pleased to have Monsanto as a member and to have the opportunity to work with them, once again, as they continue to expand their operations in Ukraine."

USUBC MEMBERSHIP REACHES 170
USUBC now has over one-hundred seventy members. Membership in January of 2005 was eight, in January of 2007 was 22, reached 100 by January of 2009 and topped 150 in January of 2011.
