New York: USUBC hosted an in-person Roundtable in New York on Doing Business in the United States with the visiting Business Mission of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI), the largest Ukrainian business association

Held at Deloitte's New York offices, the event explored strategies for Ukrainian businesses to navigate and succeed in the U.S. market.
|

|
|
The Business Mission, led by Gennadiy Chyzhykov, UCCI President, included leading Ukrainian companies such as MHP, Epicenter, Ministry of Doors, West Berry Ltd and others, representing such sectors as agriculture, food processing, retail, IT, and more. The Roundtable began with opening remarks by Irina Paliashvili, USUBC Acting President & CEO, and featured contributions from Whitney Baird (USCIB), Oksana Shulyar (Deloitte), and Luisa Scarcella (ICC).
The agenda focused on practical aspects of doing business and finding partners in the United States, including financing and insurance (presented by Alex Gordin, Rebuilding Ukraine Agency), communications strategy (Sonya Soutus, APCO Worldwide), and policy advocacy (Declan Daly and Norine Kennedy, USCIB). The event concluded with a Q&A session and networking, fostering valuable connections between U.S. and Ukrainian business leaders.

Discussions focused on USAID’s strategic vision for Ukraine, covering workforce development, energy security, healthcare improvements, and reconstruction efforts.

AeroVironment to Acquire BlueHalo Establishing Next-Generation Defense Technology Company

AeroVironment, Inc., a USUBC member, has announced a landmark agreement to acquire BlueHalo LLC, another USUBC member, creating a global leader in next-generation defense technologies.

The all-stock transaction, valued at approximately $4.1 billion, will combine AeroVironment’s expertise in uncrewed systems and advanced technologies with BlueHalo’s cutting-edge solutions in space technologies, electronic warfare, and AI-powered autonomy. This strategic merger will enhance innovation, manufacturing capabilities, and customer reach, positioning the combined entity as a leader in multi-domain defense systems.
The acquisition marks AeroVironment's entry into key new defense segments, including counter-uncrewed aircraft systems (cUAS), directed energy, and cyber technologies, expanding its total addressable market. Expected to deliver over $1.7 billion in annual revenue, the merger demonstrates AeroVironment’s commitment to advancing critical defense missions for the U.S. and allied nations. Wahid Nawabi, Chairman and CEO of AeroVironment, stated, “Together, we will redefine the future of defense, driving growth and delivering innovative solutions for our customers.”

Ukraine and NATO agree on the algorithm of actions within the final stage of establishing the JATEC Joint Center
|
|
JATEC is being created as part of the implementation of the decisions of the Washington Summit. It will be the first joint institution between Ukraine and NATO. The participants of the meeting discussed the implementation of measures necessary for the establishment of the Center and confirmed their intention to start its work in early 2025.
