Avellum Partners Congratulate Ukrainian Team for Successful Performance at III International Moot Court Competition ICC Lex Mercatoria

Avellum Partnerscongratulate the team of Taras Shevchenko National University for achievinghigh results at the III International Moot Court Competition on InternationalTrade Law and International Commercial Arbitration ICC Lex Mercatoria, whichtook place from 28 November to 1 December 2014 at the law faculty of theBelarus State University (Minsk, Republic of Belarus). The competition wasorganized by the International Court of Arbitration ICC (Paris) and supported bythe Ukrainian Arbitration Association.
As a result of fairprofessional competition with the best experts in this area the Ukrainian teamrepresented by Volodymyr Zherebetskyi (first year master degree student,Faculty of Law, Taras Shevchenko National University) and Victoria Karman(first year master degree student, Institute of International Relations, TarasShevchenko National University), took the 2nd place for Best ApplicantMemorial, 3rd place for Best Respondent Memorial, and 9th place out of 16 teamsin general ranking.
The only teamrepresenting Ukraine at the competition was coached by Mykyta Nota, Associateof Avellum Partners. “It is an honor for me to coach the Ukrainian team for thecompetition, which is highly important for the development and training ofyoung specialists in international trade law and international commercialarbitration. Our team was the only one from Ukraine and, moreover, the smallestin number of players. In spite of this, we have shown good results, which weare very proud of. Avellum Partners believe that it is necessary to develop thelegal profession in Ukraine and is always happy to support Ukrainian studentsin their striving to join the world's best practices and internationalexperience”, says Mykyta Nota.
ICC Lex Mercatoria isan annual international moot court competition on international trade law andinternational commercial arbitration. Student teams face a mock arbitrationcase under the ICC Rules of Arbitration Rules.
