WELCOMES FRANK MERMOUD TO ITS EXECUTIVE TEAM

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Strategic advisory firm TD International, is pleased to announce that J. Frank Mermoud has joined its Executive Team as Partner. 
A foremost expert in international business and economic and commercial public policy, Mermoud will advise clients on a wide range of international business, trade, investment, and reputational risk matters with a particular focus on Europe, Russia and the former Soviet Union, China, India and the Middle East in addition to investment in the US. 

He brings to bear his extensive understanding of worldwide market issues and his unparalleled experience in dealing with decision-makers in other countries around the globe.

Mr. Mermoud previously served as the Secretary of State’s Special Representative for Commercial and Business Affairs at the US Department of State from 2002 to 2009.  In this capacity, Mr. Mermoud was a key advocate and liaison between senior business executives and foreign leaders and other international entities to solve complex business challenges. 

He facilitated more than $140 billion in commercial transactions for companies in the energy, technology, telecommunications, financial services and infrastructure sectors.  While at State, he managed the Department’s global advocacy programs in to promote US economic and commercial interests and opportunities and ensured their integration into U.S. foreign policy and global economic development initiatives.

Through a 25-year career in the public and private sectors, Mr. Mermoud developed a unique ability to generate and manage significant “deal pipelines” and promote commercial interests around the world. 

By initiating business matchmaking, identifying investment and trade opportunities, facilitating capital and private equity financing and devising business and political public outreach campaigns to meet challenging financial objectives, Mr. Mermoud effectively expanded economic and commercial interests in all geographic markets.

Prior to his appointment at the US Department of State, Mr. Mermoud co-founded and served as President of International Affairs and Executive Vice President of SageMetrics Corporation, a leading international web analytics firm and was Senior Vice President of Aegis Communications, a public telecommunications company serving Fortune 1000 clients.

Mr. Mermoud’s other appointments in government have included senior positions at the US Department of Commerce, US Department of State and the US Information Agency. Mr. Mermoud holds a BSFS degree in History and Diplomacy from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.  He is fluent in French.
